The advantages of walking and living aboard Affinity is that your accommodation follows you and is there at the end of your days walk with a hot shower and the same bed. All your meals are cooked for you. If you are going ashore over the lunch period a packed lunch will be sent with you.
Just a 40-minute ferry ride from central Auckland, Waiheke Island is home to fabulous scenery, beautiful vineyards and a range of outdoor activities. Staying in private hilltop accommodation, take in the sunset and stunning million-dollar views from our jacuzzi. Wake up to birdsong and set yourself up for the day with a gentle yoga session and then just walk out the door on one of the many nature walks on the island.
This is a unique opportunity to view a variety of residential gardens on the Island. We will travel to some of the more remote parts in the north of Great Barrier Island where the homes are only accessible by boat. You will need to have a good level of fitness and wear tramping footwear. The garden tour ticket includes tour transportation, a scrumptious Morning Tea and a charming Devonshire Afternoon Tea. The weekend includes a charity dinner on Fri night and the Market Day and Rose Competition on Sunday.
This adventure has all the bells and whistles! As well as cycling we'll be doing the Treetops Walk, the Scenic Waterways Eco Boat trip, the day trip to Punakaiki and the Paparoa Track, free beer tasting at Monteiths in Greymouth and some other freebies as well. The price includes pretty much everything including the upgrade to e bikes! From Ross to Greymouth on the wild west coast of the South Island, this 132km cycle trail takes you through a land rich with history of the pioneers, early settlers and gold diggers who first settled here. At the end of the cycle trail we stay the night in Greymouth before our day trip to Punakaiki and a 3 hr walk on The Paparoa Track. This track was created as a memorial for the 29 miners who lost lives in the Pike River Mine disaster. A detailed itinerary and gear list will be sent out.
Our women's New Zealand Trip starts and finishes in Queenstown - the adventure capital of New Zealand.
We begin our first hike out of Queenstown up the famous Ben Lomond Trail. It's a steady climb to the summit of 1736m and well worth the 360 views of Queenstown and the Remarkable mountain ranges. The follow days we enjoy the world heritage area of Fiordland National Park with a stunning hike to Lake Marian. It's an early start the following day to experience the serenity of beautiful mountain ranges and waterfalls as you kayak in Milord Sound and hike the Key Summit Track in the afternoon.
New Zealand is nature at her best offering breathtaking landscapes of stunning and diverse natural beauty which include majestic and dramatic fjords, spectacular glaciers, rugged mountains, vast plains and farmland, long coastlines, wonderful sandy beaches and active geothermal regions plus so much more. The country also has history, culture and, not least, winelands producing excellent wines.
