Egypt & Jordan: Wonders of the World

One of AdventureWomen’s all-time most popular adventure travel and cultural trips, we’re returning in 2021 to Egypt and Petra in Jordan to cruise the Nile River, walk among Egyptian pyramids, and explore the ancient temples and archaeological sites in this region in the Middle East.

Known as the land of a thousand hills, Rwanda's stunning scenery and warm, friendly people offer unique experiences in one of the most remarkable countries in the world.  It is blessed with extraordinary biodiversity, and this adventurous journey covers large sections from incredible wildlife living throughout its volcanoes, montane rainforest, and sweeping plains, to Lake Kivo which is one of the great lakes of Africa.

The Galapagos Islands are loved the world over for their rich and accessible wildlife and fantastic geology. Widely known as the place where Darwin confirmed his theory of evolution, it also offers the opportunity for intimate viewing of wildlife on sea and land. In the Galapagos we'll swim with sea lions, snorkel in clear waters teeming with brightly colored fish, hike to a volcanic crater, and walk within a few feet of blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas, and Giant Tortoises. Our journey takes you to three unique islands as well as many coves and inlets that include a wealth of wildlife.

Dive into Mexican culture and the easy Baja, Mexico, lifestyle with Day of the Dead festivities. Get adventurous outdoors with surfing lessons and enjoy horseback riding, kayaking, and snorkeling with sea lions while “glamping” under the stars on the Sea of Cortez.

dates tbc Endowed with a varied topography and a diverse set of habitats, Uganda is a yet understated country that happens to provide one of the best opportunities for up-close and memorable wildlife encounters that we’ve ever experienced. Perhaps the country’s greatest attraction is its more than dozen species of primate, many of which we will see. These include Red-tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons, Blue Monkeys and the ornate Guereza Colobus.

dates tbc Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia - Our journey begins in the historical city of Luang Prabang, where you will explore the gilded temples of Wat Mai and Wat Xieng Thong. On a cruise along the Mekong River, you will discover gold-lacquered Buddha statues nestled in the limestone caverns.

While Japan has long been known for its dynamic cities, only recently has the beauty and culture of the Japanese countryside begun to gain attention. On this trip we experience both, spending time in the beginning in Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan, and at the end in Tokyo, a mixture of ancient and modern. In between we will hike some of the best parts of the Nakasendo Way, which linked the two cities during Japan's feudal period.
